We were founded by the team behind SilverDoctors and SD Bullion, and we have been covering gold and silver through two decades of bull and bear markets.
What we do
Most coverage of gold and silver is either a sales pitch or a headline. We try to be neither. SilverTrade reports on the physical metals market — supply, demand, mine production, vault inventories, central-bank buying and the monetary policy behind all of it — and we put named analysts on the record so readers can judge the argument and the person making it.
Whether you have held metal for twenty years or are looking at it seriously for the first time, the aim is the same: enough context to make your own decision, and a clear view of who benefits from the advice you are being given.

How we work
We name our sources. Interviews are published with the interviewee identified, and where a conversation was recorded elsewhere we say so and link to the original rather than presenting it as our own.
We disclose our interests. SilverTrade is affiliated with SD Bullion, a precious-metals retailer, and some of our contributors hold roles at affiliated companies. That affiliation appears on every page of this site, not only here. Contributors and interviewees may hold positions in the metals, miners and securities they discuss, and their opinions are their own.
We do not give investment advice. Nothing published here is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Precious metals can and do fall in value.
We correct things. If we get something wrong, we fix it and say what changed. Corrections and questions go to the newsroom directly.

Dr. Tyler Wall
Co-founder
Dr. Tyler Wall is a co-founder of SilverTrade and co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of SD Bullion, one of the largest precious-metals retailers in the United States. A pharmacist by training, he holds a Doctor of Pharmacy and an MBA, and was named a Kroger Pharmacist of the Year in 2010. He bought his first gold and silver during the 2008 financial crisis, when gold traded below $800 an ounce and the case for hard assets stopped being theoretical.
In 2012 he and Dr. Jon Lindau launched SD Bullion from a basement, capitalized with a single monster box of silver from each founder and a commitment to operate debt-free that the company has kept ever since. It grew into a top-three U.S. bullion dealer that has completed over $7 billion in transactions for more than 500,000 customers, and was twice named to the Inc. 500 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies (2016 and 2017). In 2023 Dr. Wall was named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year®.
He is the co-creator of the Truth Series (2018), four silver rounds (the Roaring Lion, the Tree of Life, the Ram of Calvary and the Sword of Truth) that pair some of the lowest premiums in the market with a micro-engraved Scripture verse that changes each year, and that first sold out a 50,000-coin mintage within days of launch. He has appeared on Bloomberg and writes and speaks on sound money, the mechanics of the bullion market, and why the difference between owning metal and owning exposure to metal matters.
That operator’s view, built on operations, pricing and logistics at the scale of thousands of packages a day, informs how SilverTrade covers the market: supply and demand before narrative, and the physical market before the paper one. Dr. Wall runs his companies on the same convictions he writes about. SD Bullion’s profits help fund Christian schools, pregnancy centers and ministries, including a school in Jacó, Costa Rica that is part of HIS Pods, the Christian education non-profit he helped start and serves as Board President.

Known in the precious-metals world as “The Doc,” Dr. Jon Lindau is Managing Editor of SilverTrade and co-founder of SilverDoctors.com (2011) and SD Bullion (2012). For more than two decades he has been one of the most influential voices in gold and silver commentary, known for breaking down complex market events into clear, actionable insight for everyday investors.
He has been personally long gold and silver since 2001, when gold traded at $278 and silver at $4.75. While his doctorate is from the medical field, his work is dedicated to helping people restore their financial health through sound-money principles and physical precious metals.
